Meet Elaine

Meet Elaine Sephton — The Real English Elaine

I’m Elaine Sephton EBE, proudly known as The Real English Elaine. Born and raised in Liverpool, England, I’ve made the United States my home since 1998.

I often say I’m a “Work in Progress” — and this website is, too. Growth is part of my DNA. If you ever see something that could be improved or have a topic you’d love me to explore, I welcome it. I’m a lifelong learner and a self-described “feedback sponge.”

My Mission

I’m committed to helping people live with clarity, purpose, and joy. After years of studying brain health, behavior change, and emotional wellness, I’ve dedicated my life to teaching others how to strengthen the most important organ in the body — the brain.

My mission is simple: To help you live a healthier, happier, more empowered life by improving your brain.

My Story

My journey into brain health began in 2014 with a diagnosis of Major Depressive Disorder. For years, that diagnosis was the only explanation I had for what I was experiencing.

Everything changed in 2022 when a SPECT scan revealed that my cingulate gyrus — the brain’s “gear shifter” — was stuck in overdrive, presenting like PTSD. Seeing that image gave me something I had never had before: a visual explanation for my struggles. It allowed me to understand my brain in a way that was both scientific and deeply personal.

Then, in June 2026, a follow-up SPECT told a new story: No stuck gear shifter. No PTSD pattern. My brain had changed.

I am living proof that when you change your brain, you can change your life. The images below are of my brain surface. The ‘holes’ represent areas of low blood flow. The right-hand image shows a fuller, healthier brain.

My Work

I am also a multiple suicide survivor — and I speak about it openly, because silence is exactly what I’m working to end.

I’ve spent more than 30 years in what I call the “People Business,” working across industries and consulting environments, including the high-pressure world of Big Four firms. Those experiences shaped my understanding of the real challenges people face — personally, professionally, and emotionally.

Although I hold multiple qualifications, the title I value most is: EBE — Expert By Experience.

I’m a Certified and Licensed Brain Health Trainer and Coach through Amen University. I train high school students through the PowerHouse Youth Project, and I speak for both the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and Stonecroft Ministries.

As an Author

My first book, My Crazy Summer: God, Medication and Me — A Memoir, drawn from my first suicide attempt, was published in 2020. The audiobook, narrated by me, is available on Amazon.

If you would like a signed copy, please request using the contact page and it will be arranged.

My second book, coming in early 2027, explores the science of brain health and offers practical tools to help you move from awareness to action — and truly #LuvUrBrain.
